Our room had a little different layout than most hotel rooms. The beds were comfortable and offered plenty of pillows. The hotel itself is adorable, the beach resort style decorations are so fresh and different than most stuff hotel decor. We used the valet service provided, well worth the $20/night (no additional charge for in/out), they were always super fast even when we waited until we went down to the lobby ask for the car. The shuttle the hotel offers will take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius and that pretty much covers anything downtown. If you're not local and are in Dallas to see some history or touristy stuff, you are close to that, too. We walked back to the hotel from Deep Ellum around 1AM and had no trouble. It is very convenient to Deep Ellum, so if you're local you can walk to that area (or take the shuttle provided by the hotel until 10P). All of that said, I would still give high recommendations for this hotel. Menus change, I know, but they should be updated in the room as well. Finally, the room includes a menu for the little cafe downstairs, we picked a couple breakfast items we thought we'd like to try only to find most of the items on the in room menu were no longer available, they had a new paper menu in the cafe. The outer door was fine, but the inner door, should you wish to close it, scrapes loudly against the toilet. Second, the bathroom has two doors, one on the toilet/shower area and one for the sink/closet area. I'm all for energy conservation, but if we have to wake every 30 minutes and move around to get the air conditioner to turn on it's not a restful night. First, it gets hot in Texas, it is not appropriate to have an automatic setting which turns the air conditioning off every 20-30 minutes if there is no movement in the room. I did not go straight to excellent, because a few things were bothersome.

With few exceptions, this was a great property.
